Kade McQuivey M.D.Orthopedic SurgeonSports Medicine & Shoulder Surgery
Dr. McQuivey is a fellowship trained (both in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery) Orthopedic Surgeon who treats a wide variety of sports, knee and shoulder conditions. Dr. McQuivey currently serves his community by providing care for ALA Foothills High School, and Sunrise Mountain High School Football Teams. He previously served as a team physician for several Division-I NCAA and professional teams including the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, University of Colorado Football, University of Colorado Men’s Basketball, Colorado Rapids Soccer, and Colorado Mammoth Professional Lacrosse.
Dr. McQuivey has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, he has presented his research at over a dozen national and international orthopedic conferences. Dr. McQuivey has won several research awards and grants for his contributions to the field of orthopedics.
Dr. McQuivey earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University where he majored in Exercise Science and Kinesiology with a minor in Spanish. He received his medical degree (MD) at OU William Beaumont. He then completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Arizona, where he was a Chief Resident.
After residency, Dr. McQuivey completed a Sports Medicine and Shoulder Fellowship at the University of Colorado, and the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Denver. Dr. McQuivey has trained with some of the world’s best knee and shoulder surgeons and has developed expertise in the areas of minimally invasive shoulder /knee surgery, complex shoulder reconstruction, knee joint preservation surgery, and techniques in biologic therapies.
Dr. McQuivey is a former athlete and has undergone orthopedic surgery himself. He understands what it means to be a patient and from this perspective, he strives to provide optimal individualized care. His goal is to help his patients in eliminating pain, optimizing function, and maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. Dr. McQuivey is dedicated to understanding the needs of his patients and determining the safest, most effective treatment for each individual.
When not at work, Dr. McQuivey is an outdoorsman and enjoys hiking, fishing, and skiing. You can also find Dr. McQuivey cheering on the local professional and college sports teams, enjoying live music, exercising, and playing pickleball.
